Our legendary fall guy summed it up nicely:
"People that love it love to see other people that love it loving it!"
A Fish does not need a Bicycle really, but it wants one and thus FSB is for
people looking for something a little bit different- something out of the norm.
We are a liberated party movement who bring the
festival vibe and all the fun of the fair to whatever event we do- be it in a
field, a cave, a forest an opera house, a club or a back garden. In addition we
have diversified and expanded and now offer a range of professional services.
FSB grew from a collective of fun loving fools and
festival production kids, who were bored of what was happening in and around
Bournemouth
at the time.
Born in Boscombe in June 2001 with the backyard band
bash, FSB has since grown to represent what is so good about small independent
musical and artistic events: A collective of like minded souls gathered for a
common purpose.
Centred round music; Live and Electronic, we also
attempt to fuse the performance arts and multi media- a stage for all creators.
Showcasing the best of local and national underground talent, we’re always
looking for new bands, DJ’s, VJ’s, animators, performers, artists, décor
specialists, production kids, engineers, characters, magicians, the Yeti, bar
staff, general helpers, electronic tweakers, Lord Lucan and lighting
installation freaks etc so if you are interested in joining the foolishness get
in touch.
Our music policy is anything goes- from have it
breaks and house to funky bands from ska to rock, electro to eastern europen
folk. We love to test the boundaries and if it makes us dance, we’ll have it!
(although R&B will never have a place- sorry!)
There are always specific measures in place to make
each event a one off and involve everyone with as much interaction as possible.
“Entering an FSB event is joining the family” (Boris Yeltsin)
Our ethos is about respect for each other and the
environment. There has never been trouble at an FSB event and every site we
have ever used has been left cleaner then when we found it.
In a superficial modern world of Chavs, brands,
stereotypical attitudes, and material desires FSB reminds us that the summer is
always in our hearts wherever we are. As individuals we bring the party and
rejoicing in what we have (all to good music) is ‘what we do best.’
